Epsom Salt

One of the easiest and most effective ways to help soothe your dog's skin is a bath with Epsom salt. You can buy Epsom salt at your local pharmacy or other store and it cost just a few dollars. Fill up the tub or whatever you use to wash your dog and add the appropriate amount of Epsom salt according to the directions on the box. Just remember not to let your dog drink too much of the water or it may cause diarrhea.

Add Some Oils To The Mix

Wash, Rinse, Repeat

Repeat this combination of Epsom salt bath, oils, and herbs for about a week to start to see relief.

Herbal Help

Try an herbal bath for your pup by boiling 2 cups of fresh peppermint and rosemary in 1 quart of boiling water. Let the herbs steep for up to an hour, then strain the water and add it to a tub full of warm water (make sure your dog is not in the bath tub when you pour in the hot water to avoid any accidents). Soak your dog’s fur with the water and then allow it to air dry.
